5 Things to Do in Tucson This Month

There’s always something to do in Tucson, especially since the weather stays temperate long into the fall and winter months. Take advantage of the cool-down and plan a day trip! If you’re looking for some great outings in the area, here are 5 things to do in and around Tucson that are perfect for solo trips or family adventures.

1. See the Wild West in Old Tucson

Originally built as a film set for the movie “Arizona” in 1939, Old Tucson has been featured in countless commercials, movies, and TV shows ever since. Today, it’s a place where you can experience the Wild West for yourself. Old Tucson features a saloon, history tours, staged gunfights, musical presentations, and plenty of shopping and dining. Take the whole family for some authentic Western fun!

2. View the Night Sky at the Mount Lemmon SkyCenter

Are you a constellation buff? The Mount Lemmon SkyCenter is a year-round stargazing destination that allows you to take in the night sky without any light pollution. There are public telescopes available for use that allow you to see incredible details like Saturn’s rings or distant galaxies. The SkyCenter offers workshops that teach visitors of all ages more about the darkened sky and shows many of the wonders our galaxy has to offer. One of their most popular events is SkyNights, a 5-hour program that includes dinner and picturesque views from a mountain overlook. Be sure to book tickets in advance through their website in order to snag a spot.

3. Play 18 Holes at Tubac Golf Resort

If you like to golf, you can’t miss the beautiful fairways at Tubac Golf Resort and Spa. Set against a backdrop of the mountains, this 27-hole golf course always has at least 18 holes open for play. The resort was made famous by the movie Tin Cup and has been attracting movie fans and golf lovers alike ever since. If the rest of the group isn’t into golf, that’s fine – there’s plenty to do at the resort itself. Boutiques, restaurants, and a renowned spa make the resort a luxurious place to stay the night or just visit for the day.

4. Try Your Luck at Casino del Sol

Feeling lucky? Head on over to the Casino del Sol for some high-rolling fun! From poker to bingo to table games, Casino del Sol has all of your gaming staples right in one place. They boast over 1,300 slot machines and video poker games alone so you’re guaranteed to find something you like.
